Brick City Boppers: Swing Dance Archives

Side-by-side photos of RIT students and activities with the text See How RIT is Advancing the Exceptional underneath.

Come see videos from the archive of Brick City Boppers, RIT's Finest Swing Dance Club! Due to COVID safety protocols, we cannot perform in person, but that doesn't mean the fun stops! We will be presenting our past (and possibly present) performance videos of Lindy Hop and solo jazz. These dance styles originated in the Black communities of Harlem in the early 1920s and exploded in popularity in the late 1920s to early 1950s. Our performances include some classic dances known by Lindy Hoppers worldwide, as well as some choreographies by past and present club members. Our main video showcases the Shim Sham, a classic dance known by Lindy Hoppers worldwide. If you want to see more, please check out our YouTube page!
