Created by Carly Etlinger, Calista Gasper, and Joe Strozyk for the Computing Security Undergraduate Capstone Project, RepuCheck is a combined website safety checker and phishing email detector. Our goal for the project is to create an easy-to-use tool directed towards the elderly and not-so-computer-savvy population. Our program will do the heavy lifting to determine if a website is safe, determine if received emails are phishing, and scan associated attachments for malware and malicious content - all while providing as hands-off an approach for clients as much as possible. Ideally, through the continuous use of our application, it would result in educating our users on the best practices when browsing the Internet.
