Teaching AI to see Humans on Images
At the Vision and Image Processing Laboratory, we create artificial neural networks to learn to perform a wide variety of tasks with images. One task is called pose estimation in which the Artificial Intelligence network learns to find people in the image and how their bodies are positioned (pose). Our novel methods and technology are being used to automate and more precisely study sign language, improve video calls, self-driving vehicles, and a variety of other applications.
Pose estimation examples using the State-of-the-Art method, OmniPose, developed by Bruno Artacho and Dr. Andreas Savakis at the Vision and Image Processing Laboratory.
