Using Nature to Create an Experience in Hotels

Think about your most boring hotel experience... can't remember it, right? In efforts to change the paradigm of a dull hotel, my capstone project focuses on the research question, "how does the use of biophilic design in hotel lobbies enhance the user experience?" Using aspects of nature and natural elements in an interior environment is also known as biophilic design. Biophilic design focuses on enhancing human experiences through scientific research to assist in positive outcomes in overall wellbeing. Therefore, the use of biophilia in a hotel lobby can aid in enhancing the user experience. For a final product of my research, I am creating a proposed redesign of the Radisson Hotel's lobby in Henrietta, NY using biophilic design.
