Oobleck is a name adopted from a Dr. Seuss story frequently used to describe a number of non-Newtonian fluids. The most commonly used substance to demonstrate the amazing properties of a non-Newtonian (shear-thickening) fluid is the suspension of corn starch in water, as can be seen at our exhibit. To demonstrate this, we have a long trough to walk on and smaller hand trough for those looking to get a little less messy.
