Manufacturing System for Accordion Reed Valves

Exhibit Code: GLE-2410
Zone: Engineering Park
Location: James E. Gleason Hall (GLE/009) - Brinkman Shop
Time: All Day
Appropriate for all ages? Yes

Description:
We have created a manufacturing system for one way reed valves used in accordion restoration. The way an accordion plays notes is through a reed plate that has two notes on it - one that plays when the accordion is pulled out, and one that plays when the accordion is pushed in. When one of these actions is in motion, there is a one-way valve that prevents the other note from being played. Our manufacturing system creates these.
