Description:
Over 8.3 billion metric tons of plastic has been made in the last 60 years, it takes more than 400 years to degrade and only 9% is recycled. The team created a device to melt and compress recycled plastic, and transform it into useable products for El Sauce, Nicaragua. We designed the device with the goal of sending it to El Sauce to start a plastic recycling business. This exhibit will detail the design process and showcase the device, along with products created from recycled plastic.
