A local surgeon reached out to BioPrint, asking the club to create 3D printed models of a dog femur. These models were used for making practice cuts pre-surgery, and later used as visual aids during the difficult surgery. The young dog had a femoral deformation which lead to patellar subluxation (falling out of place). The surgeon provided CT scans of the dog and the project team isolated and converted the femur into a 3D printable STL file. Once the femur models were printed, they were provided to the surgeon.
