Biomaterials and Assistive Device Laboratory

Kathleen Lamkin-Kennard
Associate Professor

The Biomaterials and Assistive Device Laboratory is housed in Institute Hall, a new building at RIT completed in 2013 to support new academic programs in Biomedical and Chemical Engineering.  The laboratory spaces are part of facilities dedicated to support the Bioengineering concentration in Mechanical Engineering as well as the new Biomedical Engineering program. The laboratory has approximately 1,200 feet of space dedicated to the development of biomaterials and biomedical devices.  In addition to a chemical safety hood and other equipment associated with device development, the laboratory contains desk and computer resources for graduate and undergraduate students.  The laboratory is also utilized extensively for related multidisciplinary senior design projects.
