Compound Semiconductor Research Lab


Activities within the laboratory are directed toward the research of the growth, characterization and device applications of III-V, II-VI and metal oxide compound semiconductors.  Compound semiconductor research in the group involves the areas of MBE and MOCVD growth of III-V nanostructured materials and their advance device applications, including InAs QD lasers for Silicon photonics and optical interconnection, III-N nanowire high efficiency solar cells and LEDs, and CuO and ZnO nanowire high efficiency solar cells. The group works closely with outside organizations including Innolume, Intel, and several university research groups in the US, Canada, China and Taiwan. Currently, Compound Semiconductor Research Laboratory is actively seeking research collaborations and funds from industrial partners and government agencies, such as SEMATECH, NSF and DOE.
