Louise Slaughter Building on the RIT campus
(CIMS, Bldg. 78, Conference Rooms 2210-2220)
Rochester Institute of Technology
Rochester, NY

Come and join us for our 39th annual event!  This year the conference will be a joint event technically co-sponsored by the EDS/CAS Society and the Photonics Society of the IEEE Rochester Chapter.  The conference will be held at RIT in the CIMS facility on the west side of the campus; please visit the following link:

The conference registration will begin at 10:15AM, and the first invited presentation will follow opening remarks at 10:45AM.  A luncheon will be served at noon to those that pre-register on our website.  There will be an afternoon coffee break, and a poster session/reception will follow the technical presentations.  The conference agenda will end at 5PM.

Invited Speakers:

Rochester was recently chosen as the home for the American Institute for Manufacturing Integrated Photonics (or AIM Photonics), which will facilitate the design and manufacturing of photonic integrated circuits.  The topic of integrated photonics is of high technical interest to the local scientific community, and is a common theme for several of the presentations.  We are exceedingly pleased to have the following invited speakers for this event.

  • Ryne Raffaelle, RIT Vice President for Research, opening remarks
  • Richard R. Grzybowski, MACOM Integrated Photonic Solutions, Getting Started with Silicon Photonics
  • Benjamin L. Miller, University of Rochester Medical Center, Integrated Photonic Sensors
  • Po Dong, Alcatel-Lucent, Silicon Photonics for Telecom/Datacom
  • Meredith Reed, Army Research Laboratory, GaN Optoelectronics
  • William Donaldson, UR Laboratory for Laser Energetics, Electro-optic Measurements on the OMEGA
  • Parsian K. Mohseni, RIT Microsystems Engineering, III-V Nanowires

Call for Posters:

Abstracts are being solicited for poster presentations in microelectronics and photonics, especially those which promote research and development activity in Western New York.  Abstracts must be received by October 30th.  Submission can be done electronically to the emails below using MS‑Word or pdf formats.
