Summer 2025 Construction
Wallace Roof Replacement
Exterior work to replace the roof of Wallace begins on May 12, 2025, and is expected to finish before the start of the fall semester. Though the work will be external, areas of Wallace may be affected by noise, materials, and equipment.
Areas of Impact
- 4th floor classrooms and study rooms have been taken offline for the summer because of noise.
- 3rd floor classrooms will be left online, but may have days where work will be loud in the area.
- 3rd floor study rooms will still be reservable, but may have days where work will be loud in the area.
- 3rd floor Quiet Study Area may have days where work will be loud in the area. If you are looking for quiet study, the 2nd floor will likely be your best bet.
- Wallace South Entrance (from bus loop) will be emergency exit only. Patrons are asked to use the main lobby entrance on the quarter mile or enter through the SHED. The SHED’s summer hours are 7am–5pm Monday through Friday.
- Wallace Elevator patrons may notice contractors using the elevator to move personal tools and small items up and down during working hours.
- Wallace heating and cooling system is located on the roof and may need to be shut down periodically when work is being performed around it.
