Filling vacancies and expanding the team
We’ve been busy this spring hiring positions both to replace staff who have moved on and filling incremental positions that have been provided to the division. We are pleased to welcome the following staff to the Marketing and Communications team:
Dylan Toombs and Brett Williams joined University Production Services on May 15. Both Dylan and Brett are working as producer/director/editors within the video productions unit. Dylan worked in the Rochester area as a videographer/editor/producer for PBS/WXXI and most recently was employed as the lead content producer at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity. Brett has over a decade of experience from the not-for-profit sector (Center for Development of Human Services), the marketing sector (CGI Communications), and higher ed (Keuka College—and yes, he worked with Brian Wetherby, now on our University Creative Services team). Brett also has experience in teaching filmmaking and storytelling courses at Keuka and the University at Buffalo.
Glenn Porter also joined University Production Services on June 4 as graphics producer/editor. Glenn is a 2004 alumnus of the School of Film and Animation at RIT and has spent more than a decade working in the entertainment industry in California. During that time, Glenn has managed campaigns for HBO, Dreamworks, Cartoon Network, and Sony. Glenn has led rebrand design efforts for Starz and Lionsgate. His clients have included Warner Bros., Sony, WBGames, Dreamworks Animation, Fox, and Ready at Dawn.
Lindsay St. Lucia joined University Marketing and Branding on July 2 as the new marketing and brand manager. Lindsay holds a BA in communications with a concentration in advertising/marketing from Marist College. She brings extensive experience in the marketing sector, most recently with Tipping Point Communications where she served as a senior account supervisor. During her tenure at Tipping Point, Lindsay had clients within the higher ed sector. In her new role, she will be assisting Kin Sejpal, AVP of marketing and branding, with the rollout of the new RIT brand, working with our external partners on the national reputation campaign, as well as our internal partners on advertising strategies, among other things.
Shelley Yehl will be joining University Marketing and Branding on Aug. 8 as our new director of marketing intelligence. Shelley comes to our division with more than 20 years in the field of higher education marketing and intelligence. She has been the director of marketing research and technical support at NTID since November 1999. Her résumé also includes experience with the Cleveland Institute of Music, the Cleveland Institute of Art, and time spent with the Development and Alumni relations group at RIT. In this newly created position, Shelley will assist our division in research and analytics that will help to establish and measure key performance indicators related to our marketing and branding effectiveness. We are looking forward to developing this ability in-house to assist us in identifying opportunities and to provide data-driven recommendations related to marketing communications and brand management functions.
Last, but certainly not least, Woon (Annie) Browar will be joining the University Creative team as a multimedia designer on Sept. 4. Annie is a proud alumna of RIT, earning her BFA in graphic design in 2007. Most recently, she was a senior graphic designer at Dawnbreaker Inc. While a student at RIT, Annie also worked as a freelance graphic designer for the School of Design. You can view Annie’s design portfolio at https://www.abrowar.com/.
Welcome, Dylan, Brett, Glenn, Lindsay, Shelley, and Annie, to the Marketing and Communications team!
