Our bright spot Wednesday shines on students in Rochester Institute of Technology's hospitality program.

Students baked 1,000 cookies, from chocolate chip to chocolate caramel to gluten free, for local first responders.

Students wanted to use their skills from class to give back to others.

"Sometimes in the moment it can seem kind of stressful with everything going on, but just at the end of it, being able to see a smile on someone's face and just saying, 'Ya know, this little thing made my day' - as small it may seem at the end of it all, it's just, it's honestly an indescribable feeling. It's beautiful," said Ndidi Chimah, a second-year hospitality student and student chapter president of Hospitality Financial and Technology Professions at RIT.

On Wednesday, they delivered all those cookies to Unity and Strong Memorial hospitals.

A bright spot salute to the students for spreading kindness with homemade treats.
