Philosopher Chantal Delsol Headlines Political Science Conference

Internationally respected political philosopher Chantal Delsol headlines Rochester Institute of Technology’s annual political science conference April 16 and 17. The Good, the Bad and the Modern will feature presentations and panel discussions on the theory, signature events and contradictions of late modern political history including how the political rhetoric of the era often diverged from the violent events that typified it.

Delsol, a professor of philosophy at France’s Université de Marne-la-Vallée, is considered a seminal figure in late modern political philosophy and is the author of a number of books on political thought and theory including Icarus Fallen: The Search for Meaning in an Uncertain World. She will present the conference’s opening talk from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, April 16, in the Chester F. Carlson Center for Imaging Science auditorium, and will be available for one-on-one interviews before and after her presentation.
