RIT and Kodak to Hold Joint News Conference to Announce Workforce Initiative, Oct. 12

MEDIA ADVISORY

Rochester Institute of Technology and Eastman Kodak Co. will announce a new initiative involving the Rochester workforce and RIT's Center for Biotechnology Education and Training (CBET) at a news conference at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 12. The announcement will be made in the College of Science atrium (building 8, Gosnell) on the RIT campus.

RIT President Albert Simone and Charles Brown Jr., senior vice president and chief administrative officer at Kodak, will announce a partnership involving Kodak and CBET. The center is a national model for comprehensive academic and career training programs in biotechnology and the emerging life sciences. CBET grew from an earlier workforce study assessing the needs of the biotechnology industry in Western New York led by RIT's Douglas Merrill, associate dean of the College of Science.

Media can access RIT's College of Science/Gosnell Building at the south side of the campus. Parking is available in the bus loop behind Wallace Library.
