RIT Croatia rocked by earthquake

Along with the Coronavirus, RIT Croatia is managing through another crisis this week. Zagreb, the nation’s capital, was hit by a 5.3 magnitude earthquake on Sunday.

The quake, the largest in the area in 140 years, mostly damaged buildings in older, historic areas. After Sunday’s tremor, Zagreb officials urged people to return to their homes given fears about the Coronavirus and social distancing.

"While our Capital has endured this earthquake, the campus was not damaged and our students, faculty and staff are thankfully safe,” said Don Hudspeth, president and dean of RIT Croatia. “We will work our way through this and we want to wish everyone in the RIT family and across the globe our best during this pandemic. Be well, fellow Tigers."

RIT Croatia, like the Henrietta campus, also suspended face-to-face instruction and went to online instruction on March 23.
