RIT to Host Nano Days March 28-April 3

A weeklong event explores the world of nanotechnology

The College of Science at Rochester Institute of Technology is hosting a weeklong nanotechnology event featuring lectures, interactive exhibits, lab tours, movies and souvenirs. The event is open to the public and starts Saturday, March 28, and runs Monday, March 30, through Friday, April 3. The event will take place in RIT’s Gosnell Building.

Nano Days is a chance for the Rochester community to explore the uses of nanotechnology in a fun, creative and relaxed environment. There will be nine demonstrations given by RIT faculty and students on a wide variety of topics including exploding tools and measurements, liquid crystal, gravity at nanoscale, making of a Bucky Ball model and a Bucky Ball card game. The public can also view movies on the future use of nanotechnology and the possible health risks that may come with it. RIT professor Karl Hirschman will give a public lecture on nanotechnology testing based porcelain at noon on Tuesday.
