RIT Hosts Mathematical Association of America Meeting April 3-4

Featured speakers include RIT Dean of the College of Science Ian Gatley

Rochester Institute of Technology’s School of Mathematical Sciences will host the spring meeting of the Mathematical Association of America Seaway Section on April 3-4.

Featured speakers include RIT Dean of the College of Science Ian Gatley, who will present “Math in a wicked world”; David Brown, associate professor of mathematics at Ithaca College; Thomas Zaslavsky, professor of mathematics at State University of New York at Binghamton; and Steve Strogatz, professor of theoretical and applied mechanics at Cornell University.

The meeting will highlight contributed papers, student research and panel discussions focusing on such topics as issues confronting K-12 mathematics teachers and students entering college.
