The RIT Air Force ROTC cadets are working with the local chapter of the American Red Cross to host a blood drive on Jan. 14 in the Gordon Field House reception room. The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“The cadets have done this for a few years now—it’s a great event,” says Elizabeth Fiorica, staff assistant, Air Force ROTC. Last year the group collected 64 pints of blood, surpassing their goal of 40 for the day. “We would love to have a big turnout for this event.”

January is National Blood donor month. In response, Dunkin’ Donuts teamed up with the Red Cross to start the Give a Pint, Get a Pound program that continues into its third year. Participants at the RIT donor drive can receive a pound of Dunkin’ Donuts coffee after donating blood.
