Book signing with CBS News veteran precedes keynote address

CBS newsman Bob Schieffer delivers the commencement keynote address during Academic Convocation, which gets underway at 3 p.m. in the Gordon Field House.

Graduating students, their family and friends, and the entire campus community are converging on campus for a weekend of pomp and circumstance. RIT’s 125th annual commencement kicks off at 3 p.m. today with Academic Convocation.

Longtime broadcaster Bob Schieffer will deliver the keynote address during the ceremony to be held in the Gordon Field House and Activities Center. Schieffer has a half-century of reporting experience, including more than 40 years with CBS News. He has served as moderator of Face the Nation since 1991, and he is also the network’s chief Washington correspondent, a post he has held since 1982.

Prior to the ceremony, Schieffer will be available from 1-1:30 p.m. in the Campus Center to sign copies of his book Bob Schieffer’s America. Books will be available for purchase prior to the event at Barnes & Noble @ RIT. A limited number of books will be available for purchase at the signing.
