RIT names three to board of trustees

Bower, Moore and Sevier-Buckingham join university leadership

RIT has appointed three new members to its Board of Trustees. The appointments of Brooks Bower, Robert D. Moore Jr. and Anne M. Sevier-Buckingham were announced during the July board meeting.

Bower is chairman and chief executive officer of Papercone Corp., the largest privately held specialty envelope manufacturer in the U.S. He graduated from RIT in 1974 with a Bachelor of Science degree in printing. Bower, of Louisville, Ky., is deeply involved in philanthropic activities, which include being on the boards of the Envelope Manufactures Association and Foundation, Walden School, The Salvation Army Advisory Board and the Kentucky Derby Museum Foundation.

Moore, of Pittsford, is executive vice president and chief information officer at PAETEC. Moore also serves on the B. Thomas Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences Dean’s Council at RIT. Moore established the PAETEC scholarship for RIT students seeking to join the firm, which has awarded $50,000 in scholarship support over the past five years. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in computer science from RIT in 1991.

Sevier-Buckingham, of Rochester, has 30 years experience in the telecommunications industry, all of which were spent at Frontier Corp. and its forerunner, Rochester Telephone Corp. Sevier-Buckingham is a graduate of Nazareth College, where she has been a member of the college’s Board of Trustees for 20 years. She also has been a member of the RIT Women’s Council for 20 years.

The Board of Trustees has 60 active members, including 28 who are alumni.
