Connect Grant: Gender Diversity: A Guide for Higher Education Faculty

Last year, Chris Hinesley, Q Center director, and Professor Alan Smerbeck in the College of Liberal Arts, were awarded an AdvanceRIT Connect Grants for their work on Gender Diversity: A Guide for Higher Education Faculty.

This guide was originally published in 2016 and serves as a base-level reference book for learning about gender diversity, labels and pronouns, and the do’s and don’ts of talking about gender identities and is given to all new RIT faculty. They are currently working on a second edition which is expected to come out in spring 2020.

The full guide can be found on the Q Center website while the description of their work can be found here.
