The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID)—a major research component of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS)—is recruiting a microbiologist to serve in the Laboratory of Parasitic Diseases, Division of Intramural Research. This position is located in Bethesda, Maryland.

The selected candidate will serve as principal investigator in multiple study protocols and clinical trials involving the immunology of parasitic and related infectious diseases in India, including helminths, tuberculosis, HIV, and SARS-CoV-2. Additionally, they will serve as the head of the International Centers of Excellence in Research (ICER) laboratory in Chennai, India, with responsibility for developing infrastructure for collaborative research projects, providing oversight for ICER projects and to the approximately 30 lab staff that support the project, and overseeing administrative matters for ICER laboratory research programs.

Salary is commensurate with experience and accomplishments.
