RIT/NTID College Course Kickoff Courses

SYNCHRONOUS vs ASYNCHRONOUS

Here are the kickoff courses and course descriptions. Most of the courses are SYNCHRONOUS. This means you meet with your instructor and classmates at a specific day and time through Zoom videoconferencing. A few courses are ASYNCHRONOUS. This means you learn the course materials by watching videos and reading materials on your own time as well as have opportunities to meet with your teacher and classmates using Zoom, VP and live chat. Synchronous and asynchronous courses follow a scheduled timeline with assignment deadlines.

Please note: All of the stated days/times for SYNCHRONOUS courses are in Eastern Daylight Time (EDT). Make sure you are available to attend classes at that time before you submit your top three choices. Be sure to convert EDT to your time zone.
