Ellen Mansfield’s artworks document her journey from a childhood of isolation and limited access to language to a life of realized identity and the ability to express herself without restrictions. This retrospective shows the different stages of her life and the recurring themes that have stayed with her throughout her artistic career.
The #DeVIAChallenge Exhibition displays selections of works by 30 artists that were created during a variety of De'VIA Central Facebook Challenges from 2014-2017. The challenges encourage novice and professional artists to explore and express the Deaf experience by using specific themes and/or motifs. For the first time, artworks posted on social media will be hung together in an exhibition for people to view. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to view this unique exhibition! Exhibition runs from January 19-Febraury 24, 2018 at the Dyer Arts Center’s glass room.
