The Jennifer Van Atta Hayes Scholarship Fundraiser and Photo Exhibit, in support of Study Abroad for RIT and NTID students, will be opening on September 17th with a reception from 4pm to 6pm. The exhibit will feature unique photographic works from students and faculty who have traveled abroad in their studies.
Jennifer Van Atta Hayes was an ASL interpreter at RIT who lived with breast cancer during the last seven years of her life; because of her love of travel, as well as her commitment to her career, this scholarship is being established in her memory to help RIT/NTID interpreting students and deaf students study abroad.
A fundraiser for the scholarship will be held on Thursday, October 15th from 6pm to 8pm. For more information, please see this link: https://www.rit.edu/gcr/brickcity/events/show/663

The parts, processes and functions of future science have been themes of my work since the 1970’s. A fascination with the mechanical complexity, visual abstractions of scientific apparatus is within my grasp to simulate. Personal and visual expression have been and open door to the fascinating world of theoretical implications of the most perplexing questions. Plato and Pythagoras among many others provided sound arguments to these questions, but theoretical physics and ontology are providing proof for these ideologies. My work continues to observe and make commentary about this sphere and its implications for our world.--Michael Estes Taylor, 2015
Painter Gary Morse creates acrylic paintings of the surreal. Morse does a quick sketch of a figure, and places it on a canvas. Then he paints the figure and let's it tell its own story. A collection of Morse's works from 2011 is hung in the Ohringer Gallery.
