Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, NTID will switch to a virtual platform for all 2020-2021 FutureQuest workshops to ensure the safety of all parties involved. For more information about our virtual FutureQuest workshops, and where to register and participate, please read below.
What is FutureQuest?
FutureQuest is a free virtual workshop offered by Rochester Institute of Technology to help high school students who are deaf or hard-of-hearing and their parents plan for the future—whether it be the transition from high school to college or from high school to work. This transition is one of the most important—and challenging—events in the life of a high school student.
We are offering one hour workshops through Zoom for 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade deaf and hard-of-hearing students and their parents. Workshops include information about the college admissions process; Vocational Rehabilitation services, which can provide assistance in finding employment and funding college; and programs to assist high school students with deciding on a career path.
Enjoy fun self-awareness activities and learn what you are good at, what you are interested in and what things you like to do that could become your focus — or your major — in college. FutureQuest offers several self-assessments that you can take on your own time to learn more about what you might like to do in the future.
Help your student begin to think about life after high school and what choices will help them on the path to a successful life. If your student is thinking of attending college, you’ll get important information about financial aspects of college and the support and access services that will help your student succeed.
