On February 11, 2003, E. William Clymer, coordinator of PEN-International, attended the 19th Annual Pacific Rim Conference on Disabilities. Professor Clymer presented a paper, "PEN-International: Positively Influencing the Postsecondary Education of Students Who Are Deaf", which was co-authored with James J. DeCaro, director of PEN-International. The conference was attended by more than 800 educators and disability experts from the Pacific Rim and mainland United States.
