PEN-International was well represented at the 7th World Congress of the International Federation of Hard of Hearing People. PEN director, James J. DeCaro, was invited by IFHOH president, Ms. Marcia Dugan, to participate in the opening ceremonies by offering words of welcome to the assembled membership of the congress (more than 500 people). Dr. DeCaro took advantage of the opportunity to present President Dugan with a personalized PEN-International windbreaker as a token of appreciation for all her work with and for people who are hard of hearing.
PEN-International also exhibited at the congress-PEN was the only educational enterprise to do so as all other exhibitors were equipment manufacturers. As a result, the PEN display area was visited by more than 250 congress participants.
