E. William Clymer, coordinator of PEN-International facilitated a meeting of representatives of NTID Cornell University, Syracuse University, and Apple Computer to discuss possible collaboration in the general areas of deafness, employment, disability, and technology. The day-long meeting permitted each participant the opportunity to describe their organization's goals and activities, along with personal professional responsibilities. The goal was to provide sufficient information to determine common ground for possible collaboration.

It was determined that there are several areas of mutual interest between the universities. A summary of the meeting, along with notated interest resources will be prepared and shared with all participants.
