On 15 November 2004, Ms. Chika Watanabe used the Taiko drums presented to PEN-International by the Nippon Taiko Foundation at the Rush-Henrietta Family Center Cultural Night. Ms. Watanabe is in the USA with her family while her husband is a graduate student. She is a student of Taiko in her native Japan. The performance was attended by residents of Rush and Henrietta, New York, where PEN has its home office on the RIT campus.
