The delegation of five students from NTID who won the 2005 Robert F. Panara Haiku Contest visited TCT and Japan between 22 and 28 May 2005. The students were accompanied by five faculty and staff members from NTID during the week-long visit.

The NTID students participated in classes at TCT, visited museums and sites of historical significance as regards haiku and tanka, and engaged in social and cultural events with their TCT colleagues. The delegation also met with officials of The Nippon Foundation of Japan. During their trip, each of the five NTID contest winners performed their respective poems for students, faculty, administrators and others.
