The delegation of five students from Tsukuba College of Technology who won the 2005 Robert F. Panara Haiku Contest visited NTID between 6 and 13 March 2005. The students were accompanied by four faculty and staff members from TCT during the week-long visit. A reciprocal visit by the five NTID winners of the competition is planned for May.

The TCT students participated in classes at NTID, shadowed NTID students for a day, and engaged in social and cultural events with their NTID colleagues. At the farewell reception hosted by the Asian Deaf Club, the NTID Student Congress and the International Deaf Students' Association, each of the five winners from TCT performed their respective poems
