On 20 November 2002, a "faculty exchange" teleconference was conducted between Tianjin University of Technology and Tsukuba College of Technology. This was the first time that the PEN-International teleconferencing facilities at TCT and TUT were used for a "virtual faculty exchange" between China and Japan. In attendance from TUT were Director Bao, Professor Zhang, Professor Han and Professor Li. In attendance from Japan were President Nishijo, Professor Zhang, Professor Araki and Professor Ohnuma.
