Kutani Porcelain Workshop by Eiichi Mitsui at Ratchasuda College, Mahidol University

Mr. Eiichi Mitsui, world-renowned Kutani porcelain artist from Japan, joined the faculty of Ratchasuda College in Thailand as a PEN-International Artist in Residence from 1 to 19 September 2003. Well known in Japan and around the world, his pieces are included in numerous collections, including the Imperial Household of Japan.

During his stay at Ratchasuda College, Mitsui san offered 6 seminars and 10 workshops to the ceramics students of the college. The overall seminar attendance was 137 and the overall workshop attendance was 206. In addition, before departing Thailand for his home in Japan, he staged an exhibition of the Kutani Porcelain work of the students under his tutelage while he was at Ratchasuda.
