From 23 to 29 October, a delegation from De La Salle University System and De La Salle College of Saint Benilde visited PEN-International. The delegation consisted of four administrators from the university:

• Brother Armin Luistro, President of De La Salle University System
• Brother Edmundo Fernandez, Chair of the Board of CSB and Provincial of De La Salle System
• Dr. Rose Marie Celemena, Chief Executive Officer of CSB
• Professor Techie de la Torre, Dean of the School of Deaf Education and Applied Studies, CSB

The purpose of the visit was to explore ways of expanding the programs and services for deaf men and women at CSB and to assess what role education of deaf people should play in the De La Salle System in the Philippines. Since the De La Salle System in the Philippines will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2011, the administration is considering how deafness might become a significant part of the vision for the system.
