On 26 April 2004, Dr. T. Alan Hurwitz was installed as RIT Vice President for NTID and Dean of NTID. The PEN-International directors were represented by Executive Vice President Ronnie Holmes of De La Salle University-College of St. Benilde in Manila, Philippines. Ronnie marched in the processional and was recognized by RIT President Simone during the induction ceremonies. At the banquet the evening of 26 April, Ronnie presented Alan with a gift on behalf of the PEN Directors and CSB.

During the induction ceremonies, Dr. DeCaro made a brief presentation honoring Dr. Hurwitz to the assembled faculty, staff, students and parents.
