On 9 November 2004, representatives of the Japan National Institute of Special Education visited PEN-International Headquarters. Dr. Masayuki Sato and Masako Terasaki, M.D. of the Institute of Special Education were guests of PEN for lunch at The Nippon Foundation Training Room. In attendance were Dr. DeCaro, Professor Clymer, NTID professor Wallber, and NTID intern Lynne Horey. The discussions centered on the work being done by Dr. Sato and Dr. Terasaki in Japan, and also upon the work of the Japan National Institute of Special Education. Dr. DeCaro also discussed briefly the work of PEN-International. In addition, the visitors were provided a tour of the NTID audiology, speech and hearing aid facilities by Professor Wallber.
