James J. DeCaro, Director and E. William Clymer, Coordinator of PEN-International, visited the Department of Linguistics and Modern Languages at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Professor and Chairperson, TANG Wai Lan, Gladys hosted the PEN-International delegation during their visit to the Centre for Sign Linguistics and Deaf Studies The agenda included several presentations by the department staff and Director DeCaro. Project staff at CUHK presented an update of their work in documenting local signs as well as the various issues they are encountering with regards to the production and duplication of sign language reference materials. Dr. DeCaro provided the group with an overview of the work of PEN-International.
It was decided at the conclusion of the visit that PEN-International will provide consultation on advanced image manipulation in Photoshop and other Adobe products to make the process of creating the highest quality depictions of signs for print and non-print reproduction.
