Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Students in Japan Meet to Discuss PEPNet-Japan

Deaf students in the Tohoku area of Japan met with students from TCT on 3 April via videoconference. The students assembled to discuss the formation of PEPNet-Japan. Deaf students from various parts of the Tohoku area gathered in Sendai City and talked with their TCT colleagues via TV conference.

Students shared their personal experiences in the universities and colleges they each attend and they discussed issues related to student services in postsecondary session. A presentation regarding a remote interpreting system developed at TCT was also offered. Students were pleased to learn about PEPNet-Japan and enjoyed a lively exchange of opinions regarding the possibility of using remote interpreting at their respective universities and colleges.
