On October 23, 2006, PEN-International hosted two visitors from IBM Japan Ltd.: Mr. Kennichi Arakawa, a technical specialist, and his colleague, Mr. Cole (Kohtaroh) Miyamoto, a staff researcher, both from IBM Accessibility Asia Pacific (AP). After an introduction to PEN-International, NTID and RIT, Mr. Arakawa and Mr. Miyamoto provided a short presentation on the research and development activities of IBM Accessibility Asia Pacific. Then, the delegation observed three classes in the department of Industrial and Science Technologies at NTID and received an overview tour of NTID. The afternoon discussion focused on future collaboration between NTID and IBM Accessibility Center Asia Pacific.
