On 5 December, NTID president Hurwitz and PEN director DeCaro visited the headquarters of the Japan Federation of the Deaf in Tokyo and met with executive director Hisamatsu and his colleagues. The meeting focused upon the development and submission of a multi-lateral proposal to a foundation in the USA. All agreed that a project addressing access to society for people who are deaf could make a significant contribution to the field.
