On 8-9 and 10 August, a series of seminars were conducted at Tsukuba College of Technology (Japan) by PEN-International's Professor Araki, Professor Clymer, Professor Ohnuma and Professor DeCaro for a team of administrators from DeLa Salle University-College of St. Benilde (Philippines). CSB Executive Vice President R. Holmes and Ms. T. de la Torre, director of the CSB School of Deaf Education and Applied Studies, participated in the training. Also in attendance were Mr. Y. Ishii and Ms. T. Okawara of The Nippon Foundation.

The seminars included the following five topic areas:

1. Curriculum and services for deaf students at TCT
2. ISDN teleconferencing technology
3. Assumptions regarding deafness
4. On-line learning
5. Educational audiology
