Mr. Alim Chandani, Student Development Coordinator for the Student Life Team (SLT) at NTID, and three deaf NTID student leaders presented a workshop for first through fourth-year deaf and hard-of-hearing students at the College of Saint Benilde, Manila, Philippines. The students were Elizabeth "Lizzie" Sorkin, the current NTID Student Congress President; Kamau Buchanan, Community Student Advocate for the SLT; and Michelle Gerson, also a Community Student Advocate for the SLT. Their workshop, titled "Life Transitions", focused on transitioning from the high school environment to a college environment, and from the college environment to the workplace.

The workshop consisted of introductions, sharing of personal experiences with community service and working in the "real world", and skits relating to three different situations on transitions. The speakers wrapped up with an activity where the CSB students wrote a letter to themselves on what they had learned during the presentation, and listed their goals that they wanted to accomplish by the end of their school year.

After the presentation was over, there was a question-and-answer period. Students asked random questions on different topics. The speakers were pleased to see the students full of eagerness to learn something new from their peers. At the end of the workshop, the leaders also did two activities; the Elephant Game and the Electric Line, and contact information was exchanged for future contacts.
