Delegation from Vietnam Visits PEN-International and NTID

Between 26 September and 1 October, a high-level delegation from Vietnam visited NTID and PEN-International. The delegation was conducting a study tour regarding how men and women who are deaf are supported in postsecondary education at Rochester Institute of Technology.

The delegation was comprised of policy makers, educators, government officials, members of The Nippon Foundation and a not-for-profit that supports initiatives in Vietnam. The members of the delegation and their affiliation are presented directly below:

  • Mr. Luong Phan Cu, Vice Chairman of the Committee on Social Affairs, National Assembly
  • Ms. Vu Thi Phuong, Deputy Director, Department of Social Affairs, Office of the Prime Minister
  • Mr. Le Tien Thanh, Deputy Director of the Steering Committee for Education of Disabled Children, the Ministry of Education and Training
  • Mrs. Le Minh Ha, Inclusive Education Specialist, Deputy Director of the Steering Committee for Education of Disabled Children, the Ministry of Education and Training
  • Mr. Tran Dinh Thuan, Inclusive Education Specialist, the Ministry of Education and Training
  • Prof. James Woodward, Project Director, Dong Nai Deaf Education Project
  • Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hoa, Asst Director at Dong Nai project
  • Mr. Nguyen Hoang Lam, deaf student, Dong Nai Deaf Education Project
  • Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong, deaf student, Dong Nai Deaf Education Project
  • Mr. Bui Van Toan, Country Director, VNAH Viet Nam
