Workshop participants will test a basic transceiver chip (electro-optic modulator + photodetector) that was designed in the AIM Photonics edX course: Photonic Integrated Circuits 1. This is a hands-on workshop where you will learn how to test, characterize and analyze PIC’s with a Mach-Zehnder Modulator (electro-optic modulator) and waveguide integrated Germanium photodetector. You will also go to the AIM Photonics Test, Assembly and Packaging (TAP) facility for a tour and learn about packaging/metrology.
Advanced Testing (optional): TBD
Cost: Free (including lunch and refreshments)
Travel/Hotel: Registrants must pay for their own travel to/from the workshop, housing and breakfast/dinner (only lunch and refreshments will be provided at the workshop). We will provide registrants with hotel information (which has shuttles to/from RIT).
This workshop is hands-on, consequently, we have to limit registration to approximately 12 participants.
