RIT's Self-Study 2017

In spring of 2017, RIT's Self-Study Report was submitted to the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) as part of our decennial reaccreditation.

RIT enthusiastically embraced the Self-Study process as a way to affirm and demonstrate the university's compliance with the Standards of Accreditation, examine strengths and opportunities for improvement, and reflect on the incredible story that had unfolded over the preceding ten years. In light of this, the Self-Study Report was specifically designed to yield three major outcomes:

  • Demonstrate how RIT meets the new Standards of Accreditation
     
  • Advance RIT's Strategic Plan (Greatness Through Difference, 2015-2025) priorities, identify gaps in the university's readiness to implements such priorities, and recommend opportunities to achieve institutional mission and goals
     
  • Review RIT's outcomes-based institutional assessment practices and make recommendations to expand or refine institutional assessment practices to guide planning, resource allocation, and institutional improvement
