Holiday Closing 2019

RIT Press will be closing for the Institute holiday break. Place your order before noon on Friday, December 20, 2019, and your in-stock items will ship before the break! Any orders placed after that time will be fulfilled in 2020.

We will be closing for Thanksgiving starting Wednesday November 27, and taking a short break from shipping orders. Any orders received during this time will be processed on Monday, December 2.

Haydn Journal Wins PROSE Award

An online journal published by RIT Press and focused on scholarship exploring the music of Haydn has been recognized for innovation in journal publishing in the humanities and social sciences. HAYDN: The Online Journal of the Haydn Society of North America won a PROSE Award from the Association of American Publishers. The PROSE Awards annually recognize the very best in professional and scholarly publishing by bringing attention to distinguished books, journals, and electronic content in 58 categories.

Photo History / Photo Future conference, April 2018

RIT Press presents Photo History / Photo Future, a three-day conference on the archaeology and future of photography, April 20-22, 2018, Rochester, NY.

The conference offers a forum for reporting recent research findings, sharing current professional and scholarly practices, and discussing subjects pertinent to the broadly defined history and future of photography, including motion pictures. The conference will engage practitioners, librarians, archivists and the diverse scholarly disciplines and a variety of research methods on historically significant subjects and topics of future interest. Following the presentation of scholarship, the conference concludes with a photography-focused Antiquarian Show and Sale on Sunday.
