National Artificial Intelligence (AI) Research Institutes Program

Synopsis. Artificial Intelligence (AI) has advanced tremendously and today promises personalized healthcare; enhanced national security; improved transportation; and more effective education, to name just a few benefits. Increased computing power, the availability of large datasets and streaming data, and algorithmic advances in machine learning (ML) have made it possible for AI research and development to create new sectors of the economy and revitalize industries.

Inclusion across the Nation of Communities of Learners of Underrepresented Discoverers in Engineering and Science (NSF INCLUDES)

Synopsis.  The NSF INCLUDES Big Idea is a comprehensive national initiative to enhance U.S. leadership in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) discoveries and innovations focused on NSF's commitment to diversity, inclusion, and broadening participation in these fields. The vision of NSF INCLUDES is to catalyze the STEM enterprise to work collaboratively for inclusive change, resulting in a STEM workforce that reflects the population of the Nation.

VentureWell E-Teams

VentureWell’s E-Teams program provides funds for faculty-led multidisciplinary student teams to bring inventions to market.  E-teams must​ contain a minimum of two active undergraduate or graduate RIT students as key members, and a faculty mentor who will serve as Principal Investigator (PI). 

Applicants for the May program cycle must submit project abstracts (described below) to Charles Bush at cebsrs@rit.edu by April 14, 2021 at 5:00 pm.   

NSF Partnerships for Innovation (PFI)

IMPORTANT INFORMATION AND REVISION NOTES

  1. PFI- Technology Translation (PFI-TT) projects will be funded for up to $550,000 for 18-24 months per award; approximately 15-35 awards are anticipated. PFI-Research Partnerships (PFI-RP) projects will be funded for up to $1,000,000 for 36 months; approximately 10-20 awards are anticipated.
  2. NSF Innovation Corps (I-CorpsTM) Teams awards no longer convey the lineage required to submit a PFI proposal.
